Everything we know about what’s in “Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything”

We scoured musty tomes and scryed on demon lords to bring you the inside scoop on Tasha's Cauldron of Everything

Wizards made their stealth roll and took everyone by surprise with this one. In hindsight the clues were there for those paying attention to Unearthed Arcana and D&D Beyond. But this is one time we are excited to be surprised.

Getting to the point, Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything will be like the next Xanathar’s Guide to Everything. It will add a huge number of options to build and customize characters along with content to help DM’s run adventures and generally make everything more better.

Here’s what we know so far:

  • The Artificer class will be reprinted along with new infusions. Word is this will be campaign setting agnostic so it will work Eberron or the Forgotten Realms.
  • 17 new subclasses including: Artificer Armourer, Bard College of Creation, Ranger Fey Wanderer, Warlock Genie Patron, Sorcerer Aberrant Mind, Sorcerer Psionic Soul.
  • 5 subclasses reprinted from other sources: Cleric Order Domain, Druid Circle of Spores, Bard College of Eloquence, Paladin Oath of Glory, and a new version of Wizard Bladesinger.
  • New magic items from common to legendary. Some or all of these may be class specific. Let’s hope the humble spear finally gets some love.
  • Sidekick classes. Your posse grows! Get your very on Podrick. Also a good way to introduce new players to D&D.
  • Lineage will be a new system to adjust ability bonuses for races. The goal is to make it easier to play the race you like with the ability stats you want for your class. Gnome barbarian here we come!
  • New spells and magic tattoos including two from Tasha’s own spellbook, Tasha’s caustic brew and Tasha’s otherworldly guise. The Spells and Tattoos Unearthed Arcana included a variety of summon spirit spells and tattoos that did things like give resistance to damage types so we think we will get updated versions of these.
  • Some of the races from Volo’s will be reprinted. Rumors around Waterdeep say that orcs and kobolds will be included without stat penalties.
  • Group patrons. Is that you, Bosley?
  • Puzzle building and examples.
  • The Tarokka deck. We think it’s probably a real one.
  • New feats and class feature variants. The UA for Class Feature Variants was incredibly popular for good reason. It gives some very cool ways to customize the base classes and create just the character you want. We hope this gives us an official version of these rules.
  • Ranger Beastmasters will get three new “primal” animals.

No word yet on how Adventure’s League will incorporate the new content. But we assume this will be a new PHB +1 option.

This will be a huge breath of fresh air to expand character creation options and make an already great game even more fun.

The books drops on November 17th, 2020. Support your local gaming community and preorder yours from your favorite game store
